Being Uniquely Me with VIPme

While waiting for one of the shows at fashion week to start, I overheard a conversation behind me that kinda rubbed me the wrong way. "Everyone here dresses so basic" she scuffed to the girl next to her.  If you don't know what the term "basic" means, it basically means lacking originality, or like everyone else. I guess the reason this bothered me so much is that I feel that individuals have the right to dress however they want and express themselves through their clothes with whatever they feel they look good in.

I don't think it's fair to say someone lacks originality because they enjoy styles that are currently trending. I mean, isn't that whole point of being a spectator at a fashion show? To preview trends for upcoming seasons to help with future wardrobe choices. Being fashionable can look differently to different people and that's okay. That's really the beauty of it all - there are no set rules. We have every right to be our own kind of beautiful without apologies.

Now that my rant is over, let's talk clothes! I recently stumbled upon an online shop called VIPme that carries everything you could possible need for a complete wardrobe. When choosing an outfit to wear to the Vancouver Fashion Week Finale show, I knew VIPme would have me covered. A sweater dress is the perfect fall staple piece, and this particular one screamed my name. The jacket is where I really had fun with my look and stepped slightly out of my comfort zone. I love that it's the perfect balance between sporty and feminine. It almost looks like a cross between the ever so popular bomber style jacket and a longer coat.  And how fun are the floral sleeves?! I received so many compliments on the jacket, even from a few of the models, which really helped validate my decision to take the plunge with this unique piece.
