Yes you've guessed it. Florals are my next Spring Wardrobe Staple (groundbreaking) and today I'll be sharing some atypical ways to style them!
2. Play with textures and dimensions. While floral patterns can be quite busy on their own, this shouldn't prevent you from pairing them with different fabrics (like this silk tank pictured above) or silhouettes (like ruffles). Rather than playing it safe, choose a fabric or shape with some fun and flare!
3. Wear florals with black. Your immediate instinct may be to choose colours for Spring and Summer, floral prints on a black background look classy and chic. Just check out Vogue's Spring/ Summer 2017 recap on floral dressing and soak up all the floral on black awesomeness that hit the runway for this year!
4. Go for subtle bold details. Is that an oxymoron? What I mean is be bold in a small way. Choose sunglasses with a fun coloured tint or a bag with striking details rather that bold pants to compete with your bold floral print. Make sense?
5. Don't forget the shoes. Your fun floral print may be catching most of the views, don't neglect the shoes. Try a simple open-toe mule to complete your anything but basic floral ensemble!
How do you like to wear florals for Spring?
Stay tuned for Part 3 coming live to the blog on Wednesday!
This post is brought to you by Le Château. All thoughts, opinions and styling are my own.

Hahah groundbreaking indeed...but ever so lovely though! Have been noticing the floral/black combination too and wrote about it today as well for fall. I like the contrast though, black is so intense whilst flowers are more soft. And yes to that kimono, adore it! Xx

DeleteI always pair florals with black it's so unexpected! I usually go for florals with dark backgrounds anyway so it's easier to get this effect so this shirt is perfect. I'm totally going to try out the kimono style stop.
ReplyDeleteI get the groundbreaking thing - but there's something so nice about wearing florals in the sunshine!

DeleteI adore that floral kimono, it's so pretty and certainly chic! I love the way you've styled it with the silk cami, black denim, and those pretty mules! I also love your tips on wearing florals into spring. Though it may be common practice to reach for or think of florals come spring, sometimes it's not as easy or instinctual when it comes to styling them! Thanks for sharing, beauty, and I hope you're having a great day so far!
