Dressing for a Low-Key Holiday Party

This year, I have a few holiday parties to attend and host and not all of them require me to dress to the nines. I always like to brainstorm a few dressed-down looks for some of the more casual gatherings planned. What's great about today's look is that it can be easily transitioned from day to night by trading the back-pack for an evening clutch and the red beret for a sleek ponytail.
Dress: c/o Dynamite | Blazer: c/o Dynamite similar | Beret: Forever 21 | Boots: Similar | Bag: Similar
If you're planning on attending any low key holidays parties this year, read on for a few tips on how to dress down your holiday ensemble.
1. Add a few layers. I stepped a little outside the box by pairing a flowy vest underneath my over-sized blazer. This look may not work for everyone but if you're looking to experiment, it's a fun idea to try!
2. Go for boots rather than heels. I've been having so much fun with this red pair and thought they made the perfect addition to my holiday ensemble. Boots are an easy way to dress down an outfit and you can play around with the style and color for the holidays too!

3. Try a blazer. I have been living in blazers lately and love the element of class they bring to an outfit. Rather than a fancy faux fur coat, try pairing a blazer over your outfit to keep it more casual and comfortable.
4. Complete the look with a holiday hat. Trade your fancy updo for a hat this holiday season. Berets and cabby hats are a big hit currently and pair nicely with a more casual holiday outfit.

With whatever you choose, make sure you're comfortable and feel good in your clothes and you'll look great no matter what!
