Cruising Hawaii

I recently returned from a trip to Hawaii. My husband and I cruised to Lahaina, Hilo, Kona, Kauai and Honolulu. My favourite places to visit were Kona and Kauai as they had very laid back vibes and were not as crowded as Honolulu. Honolulu is a great place to visit if you like crowds and shopping. I like to think of it as the Vegas of Hawaii. Hilo was the rainiest of the islands, and I was told by the locals that it is one of the rainiest places in the world. So if you're coming from a place like me that rains a lot in hopes to escape to a sunny paradise, Hilo may not be the place for you. My favourite experience on the trip was kayaking in Kauai along with a jungle hike and waterfall swimming. The mosquitos treated me like a smorgasbord, but it was definitely worth it! Overall, it was an amazing trip. I definitely recommend cruising the islands so that you can get an idea of which place you prefer best and plan to visit that place exclusively for a future vacation. My only disclaimer is caution to those with weak stomaches. The Pacific Ocean is very rocky and my husband did have a few nauseous nights. Thankfully we were in port for 4 of the 7 nights so it did not hassle the entire vacation. Have you ever visited Hawaii?
