The Number One Reason Why I Prefer Dresses to Pants (It May Surprise You)

Friday posts are my favourite because the weekend is here and I get to pull out my party dresses and twirl around all day! Okay I'm kidding.. I don't actually spend my weekends in dresses twirling around, but when wearing this dress, I almost feel the need to!

I've had so many people tell me they hate wearing dresses because they're "too girly" or they feel "too restricted" when dressing up. I can't relate at all because as mentioned before, dresses are one of my favourite clothing items to wear. If anything, I feel more relaxed and free when I wear dresses because I can move with ease and not worry about the constricting feeling of tight pants.

For me, the weekend typically revolves around eating food, going out to restaurants, meeting friends or attending birthdays. So let's be honest, one of the number one reasons I love wearing dresses is so I can enjoy all the food without the discomfort or worry of the post-meal bulge, or as many of us refer to as "food baby".  I don't care how skinny or fit you are, you eat enough good food, that food baby is inevitable!

The weekend is a time for being carefree and having fun. You don't have time to worry about whether your shirt is long enough because you've unbuttoned and unzipped your skin-tight jeggings (just admit we've all done it) to feel relief from that calamari, dynamite roll, chicken burger, bellini and chocolate brownie you've just downed (my typical weekend order from Browns =P).

So let's all do ourselves a little favour this weekend and ditch those tight pants and opt for something easy and breezy, like this floral dress from Courtney Boutique. Your tummy will thank you later!

  1. LOVE THAT DRESS! I agree - the best part of wearing a flowy dress like that is to have extra room for your food baby!

  17. Hahahaha!! I mean, where's the lie!? Honestly, when I wear fitted dresses and have a food baby, that's no good... but the carefree comfort of a flowy dress is the best after a good meal! I love wearing dresses because I don't have to match up a bunch of clothing and definitely enjoy the non-restricting discomfort like when wearing pants!!

    Gorgeous dress!!
