Shopping for the Perfect Pair of Pants

I've always preferred dresses and skirts over pants and shirts because of the ease and feminine appeal of them. If I wore pants, it was mostly jeans or jeggings, which are limited in my daily wear because my workplace only allows denim on casual Fridays. I've recently been experimenting more and more with trousers and pants and really enjoy their versatility. I love that you can wear them to work with a classy button up top or dress them for a night out with your favourite off-the-shoulder top.

If you've been thinking of purchasing a pair of pants but unsure of what to look for, keep in mind the following 3 easy points the next type you go shopping:

1. Fit: Ensure the pants fit your body in all the right places. Nobody wants to look at a saggy crotch or sloppy hemline, where you're practically tripping on your pants when you walk. Aritzia has been my go-to for trousers as they have cropped lengths and I don't have to worry about needing alterations #shortgirlproblems.

2. Color: Start with something neutral like beige or black to have multiple styling options.

3. Comfort Level: Can you move in them? Do they ride up into places no pants should go? Make sure you can get around comfortably because you'll probably want to wear them when you're looking for an outfit with minimal maintenance and maximum ease.

What do you look for when shopping for the perfect pair of pants?

  6. Gorgeous post! I've always been the opposite, feel much more comfortable in trousers than in skirts / dresses but can definitely appreciate the appeal of the latter! xx
