Welcome to Part 2 of my Spring Trends Series: Sheer fabrics. I know sheer anything may make you feel a little nervous or even self-conscious to try, but there is a way to wear this style tastefully and without feeling naked in your clothes.
Read on for some styling tips on how to comfortably and subtly style a sheer top.
1. Try styling a sheer top with a print or pattern like the one I'm wearing above. The lace floral detail distracts attention away from the fact that it is sheer and you almost have to look twice before realizing it's semi see-through.
2. Choose a bra that blends into your top rather than stands out so that it doesn't attract attention.
3. Layer a cami under your top if you really want to keep covered up. That way you still have the sheer effect over your arms and neckline without the worry of showing too much skin.
4. Pair your top with something high-waisted. High-waist = more coverage.
5. Counter-act the sexy and sheer detail by choosing a top with more coverage. Rather than choosing a plunging neckline top that's sheer, opt for more modest coverage like the mock neck/turtle neck I'm sporting above.
Now go out there, grab something sheer, and rock it!
This post is brought to you by Sans Souci. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Such a great way to incorporate sheer fabric into an outfit. I do love that high neck for the added coverage. It looks very lady like too!

That is a beautiful top! i really like the print all over, and you're right it's a good way to wear something sheer without worrying you're showing too much, as the print distracts the eye :)

I didn't even saw that it was sheer until I saw these close ups, but love it! Hahah so clever indeed to go for a print to "cover it up" a bit. Makes it more wearable for the daily life too. Love the inspo babe, hope you're having a lovely weekend! Xx

Such a gorgeous top! Haven't seen a printed sheer top before, but it looks absolutely fantastic! Also thanks for the styling tips, I'd always go for a bra that blends in with the top instead of a cami underneath. Have a lovely week! xx

That top is absolutely amazing pretty! It is a beautiful sheer piece that you have styled so well. You are so right with those tips! I definitely had to look twice to realise that your blouse was semi see through. I must buy myself a better bra to blend into this sheer floral lace bodysuit I never wear.
ReplyDeleteAdrianna xxx | http://mimamochi.com/
I didn't even realise at first that it was see through; having the coloured pink print on the lace keeps it nice and subtle. This is beautiful! xx
ReplyDeleteThis top is amazing because it incorporates two trends:) Love the way you styled it and you look amazingly classy - the fabric is not that sheer like some others so you can take it everywhere!
