How to Create a Romantic Travel Look

So we've arrived in Venice, the magical city that has canals instead of roads and boats in place of cars. You feel the romance as you share a gondola ride with your partner or stroll over a canal bridge, holding hands with your man. Unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to experience a gondola ride, but I did take a water taxi with about 50 or so other people - definitely not as romantic. 

This was another city that wowed me with its culture and visual pleasantries. This was also the first Italian country where I actually ate good Italian pizza. The hubby and I spent two days in Venice exploring, taking photos and getting lost, like really lost. It was super confusing to navigate without Google maps and we found ourselves in complete circles a few times. Thankfully, we figured out how to look for the canal that separates San Marco from San Polo, which always led us back to our cruise ship. 

Today I'll be sharing a simple formula for creating the perfect romantic travel ensemble. This type of outfit works well for destinations like Spain, Italy, and Mexico. 

1. Opt for flowy and non-structured articles of clothing. I paired my off-shoulder bubble top with some flow palazzo pants. The last thing I want is to wear stiff clothing that is difficult to move in. 

2. Try palazzo pants. Rather than reaching for the expected maxi skirt or dress, try a pair of palazzo pants with a fun print instead. This pair from Sans Souci has the added bonus of a subdued sexy side slit which made them even more comfortable and cool to wear. 

3. Beach waves in, curls out. Typically when you think romance you think of a perfectly curled head of hair. Go for something a lot more low maintenance but as equally romantic with beach waves. Apply some mousse to your hair the night before and braid it. When you take it out in the morning, the mousse will give you that extra volume and keep your hair intact all day long.
