Food Fit for a Queen

Earlier this week, I shared the party and decor details from my high tea birthday party (the first post can be found here). Hopefully you're reading today's post on a full stomach. If not, you may want to get a snack because the next set of photos are absolutely mouthwatering.

I knew I wanted an ombre cake to ring in twenty-five and Katie from Resting Dough was ready to tackle the challenge. She created a stunning three layer vanilla cake with white chocolate butter cream frosting. To see the exact tutorial on how to re-create this beautiful masterpiece click here.

My lovely friend Katrina knew I had been wanting to make a trifle for quite some time. She decided to surprise me and create one for the party and gave me the trifle dish as a birthday gift. Thanks girl!

Katie also created the most delicious cream puffs I have ever tasted. I have always been obsessed with the frozen ones Costco sold, but this recipe trumped Costco's by far!

Katie's raspberry sugar cookies were to-die-for! She kept the pink theme going for the majority of desserts she created.

These cherry white chocolate cupcakes with vanilla and raspberry buttercream were also a hit!

Katie also prepared a savoury selection of basil citrus scones.

I've tried to make macarons myself and did not have a great outcome with the flavour. On top of everything else she created, Katie also managed to whip up some white chocolate and raspberry citrus French macarons and they were so scrumptious!

My skills only got as far as preparing the chicken salad and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (with the help of my girl Nadine).

My belly was beyond satisfied after devouring all of the delicious treats. Another big thanks to Katie for all her hard work and Alanna for the detailed photos.

I will be adding direct links to more recipes from Katie's creations over the next few weeks so be sure to check back with the blog and Resting Dough for updates!
