How to Style Your Gaucho Pants (or Culottes) with Gusto

When I think about gaucho pants (or better known now as culottes), I think about that scene from 'Never Been Kissed' where David Arquette asks Drew Barry Moore if she's wearing pants or a skirt and she replies, "they're gaucho pants - I got them on sale"! I remember watching that scene thinking, "I would never be caught dead in those" and here I am today blogging about how to wear gaucho pants.

I was on the fence as to whether or not I should take the plunge and try them out but when I got them, I was so happy I did! I find gaucho pants very flattering (especially for the rear-end) and very chic. They really elevate the overall look of your outfit and provide a sense of class and sophistication.

I paired mine with this one-of-a-kind silk cropped top by Jacoba Jane. The soft periwinkle blue complimented the crisp white sheen of the top. I could also see myself tucking a top into the pants or wearing a more fitted cropped top.

Do you have enough gusto to style gaucho pants? How would you style them?

Also, for 25% off your first purchase from Jacoba Jane, enter promo code RINALOVE25 at checkout. For every 'Sara' top purchased (the top I'm wearing in today's post) from Jacoba Jane, a 12 month tailoring course will be offered to a woman in Nicaragua. This way, she can learn a valuable skill for a sustainable income, while still having the opportunity to be close to home and care for her children. Stay tuned for more on this brilliant emerging brand!

  17. Ha, great reflection of gauchos. I love that movie!! Next time I watch, that scene will probably stand out!! Anyway... I used to wear gauchos, haven't worn culottes... but same difference, I suppose. I prefer pants, shorts, leggings, or a cropped jean ("capris).
