The Perfect Date at High Street

With Valentine's Day just two short weeks away, it's a good time to start thinking about where you might want to celebrate. Valentines is extra special for the hubby and I because not only do we celebrate Valentines, we also celebrate our wedding anniversary!

With our crazy busy and opposite work schedules, convenience and comfort is always key when planning the perfect date. For us, the perfect date consists of time together in a relaxed environment that actually allows us to have a conversation. Add some good eats, the perfect movie and dessert (of course!) and you have the makings of the perfect date. High Street is a venue that offers all of the above in one convenient location! 

The hubby and I have always been curious about the Cineplex VIP movie experience, and boy did it live up to the VIP title. The lounge offered a comfortable seating area which was perfect for grabbing a drink and enjoying an appy. 

Thirty minutes before our show started, (we saw La La Land and I totally bawled) we took our seats and were greeted by our server. Yes, you read that correctly. A server actually serves you food and drinks in the theatre!

I was quite impressed with the menu selection as it offered a wide variety of appetizers, main course dishes, burgers, and sandwiches (I totally recommend the Chipotle chicken wrap it's ah-mazing!). The other thing that I felt totally in awe of, was the fact that I could have a glass of wine or cocktail while watching the movie. 

One of my favourite features of VIP seating was the ability to push up the arm rest and create one big seat - a total date night game changer! The hubs was actually able to put his arm around me and we could cuddle! 

We ate a good portion of our dinner in the theatre, followed by some popcorn and more drinks! Between the movie and dessert, we decided to walk around to digest the feast we devoured and found it so convenient to be surrounded by some of my favourite stores. Forever 21 Red just opened up, which quickly became my new favourite! 

To end the night, we thought it would be nice to get dessert at Cupcakes. My man knows that the way to my heart is through lots and lots of sweets! 

If you've ever visited a Cupcakes store, you're familiar with its retro candyshop-like appeal. It was the perfect spot to end our date and my sweet tooth was more than satisfied. 

All-in-all, High Street is the perfect place to execute a romantic, yet relaxed evening with the hubby. The fact that we were able to carry out our date in one convenient location was the big cherry on top of a perfect evening.
