Eco Fashion Week Part 1

Top: similar | Skirt: similar | Shoes: similar | Coat: similar | Belt: Asos | Bag: Gucci

...

I attended my first-ever Eco Fashion Week this year and I'm a bit sad because it's the last time Vancouver will have the privilege of hosting. All upcoming Eco Fashion Week events will be hosted in Toronto.  At least I was able to attend this year and who knows, maybe I'll be able to travel to Toronto to attend sometime in the future =).

Over the next two weeks, I'll be sharing what I wore to the events as well as a recap of some of my favourite designs and designers - so stay tuned!

I always try to have a little bit of fun with what I wear to fashion events. My outfit was actually all pieces I already had in my closet, just styled with a twist. Sometimes you can create the best outfits shopping your own closet! The exaggerate bell sleeve top is actually a dress that I tucked into a skirt (styled previously here). I also chose to layer a jacket over the dress/top for some extra insulation and thank God I did, it was freezing!

I picked up the dress/top at one of my favourite second hand stores, Buffalo Exchange. I always manage to pick up some really good finds there, especially when shopping in major cities (LA, Portland, Seattle). I definitely recommend you checking it out if you have one near you!

I wanted to try something different with my hair and attempted a faux-bob. I achieved this by curling all my hair and tucking and pinning my longer strands underneath my short layered pieces.

All-in-all I was really happy with the outcome of this look and was even happier that I didn't have to spend any extra money on it =).

Stay tuned for Look 2 coming to the blog Wednesday!

  29. You did so well to find that amazing top in a vintage store! It's oh so on trend and beautiful. I love the exaggerate bell sleeves and think this is a look that suits you a lot.

And I so agree with being able to reuse bits and pieces to create a new look without spending money. Sometimes with blogging there can always be that pressure to be seen in something new. Loved your creativity with your hair too btw
