Over the next couple of weeks, I'll be sharing some of my favourite Spring trends for 2017. I'm not one to jump on every fashion trend that comes up each year or season, but I do like to indulge in ones that fit my personal style and that I feel comfortable in.
Stripes are one pattern that continue to make a comeback and they really have a presence for Spring this year. You'll find them on tops, dresses and pants and of all different sizes. Since I'm vertically challenged, I like to use stripes to help elongate me and make me appear taller. Choosing vertical stripes is the best way to accomplish this. If you're looking to avoid the opposite effect or looking larger than you are, avoid horizontal stripes at all costs! It's rare to find a piece with horizontal stripes that will flatter you - trust me I've tried.
For today's look, I chose this blue striped number from Sans Souci. I love the oversized fit and flow of the top and how easy it is to half-tuck into my denim. I paired the look with my easy-to-wear mules and kept my hair simple and straight for this relaxed weekend look. I also plan to style this top with denim shorts on a warmer day or sleek trousers for a dressier look.
How do you plan to wear stripes for Spring?
