A Little Rain Couldn't Hurt

Our next two stops were spent in Tortola and St. Thomas. It down-poured for about 20 minutes in St. Thomas and was cloudy for about half of the day. I had no complaints though because that was probably the only reason why I didn't get a sunburn early on in the trip (just wait until you see me in Barbados -- lobster red!)

In St. Thomas, we were recommended to visit Magen's Bay. Considering all the hype, it was one of my least favourite beaches that we visited for several reasons: 1. The drive was about 35-45 minutes from the cruise port, up a windy and seemingly-dangerous road. 2. You had to pay a fee to use the beach (I've never experienced this before) and 3. It was over-crowded.

We had a better experience in Tortola with no admission fees to access the beach and less crowds. It was still a partially over-cast day, but we later on realized how important those shaded days were.

Stay tuned for more Caribbean and beach adventures...
