Making Friends with Sea Turtles

I could revisit Hawaii a million times and never get sick of it. I find myself trying new things and exploring new places with each visit.

I tried paddle boarding for the first time during my trip to Miami two years ago. My husband and I completed a sunset paddle boarding excursion. The waters were calm and I remember my legs being so tired after spending two hours grasping my board with my feet as if I had talons. There was no way I was going to fall in that water...dark water... in Florida... with possible crocodiles???

Hawaii was different. The ocean was rougher and it was pretty windy. I thought there would be no way I could paddle board in those conditions, considering how tough I found it the first time in such mild conditions. However, after I stood upright, relaxed my stance and loosened my toe grip, I found it to be a lot less tiring and extremely enjoyable.

I was even lucky enough to have two sea turtles come up for air on both sides of my board! How I wish I caught that on camera...

I probably didn't wear the most practical bikini for paddle boarding that day.. but hey... all my goodies stayed exactly where they needed to.

Oh! Lastly, if you're ever in the Honolulu area, you must have breakfast at Macs 24/7 diner at the Hilton Waikiki Beach Resort. Their red velvet pancakes are everything and more... and they're open 24/7 if you didn't already get that from the restaurant name ;)
