Dressing for High Tea

My girlfriend treated me to high-tea for my birthday last week and it was soooo good! We visited Tracy Cakes in Murrayville and to say the food was delicious is an understatement. We were offered a two-tier stand of treats: an assortment of sandwiches on the bottom and dessert pastries and scones on top. The pineapple scones were my favorite paired with a cream and jam spread.

We had a lot of fun dressing up for the occasion. The key to dressing for high-tea is to look and feel classy and lady-like. You don't even need to spend an arm and a leg to accomplish this! I've had this vintage pill box hat for quite a while and was waiting for an excuse to wear it. Sometimes you can pick up hats at garage sales, vintage markets, or flea markets. A lot of accessory stores are now selling facinators and other hair accessories that would be fitting for high tea.

I wore a simple dress paired with my classic rockstud Valentinos to complete the look. Floral dresses are also very fitting for high-tea. To read a previous post where I hosted a high-tea party click here, here and here for more fashion inspiration.

    1. The funny thing is, I don't drink it usually either. I'm more of a cold drink person. But they had a grapefruit tea here that was really tasty, and I just put a few ice cubes in it =P

And as you said, the key is to dress so you feel lady-like. Obsessing over your hat, so chic to the dress and perfect for the occasion! 25. You look so beautiful Rina! It's always fun to dress up in way you wouldn't normally for more formal events like high tea. I remember when I was a child there was a tea parlor my mom would occasionally take me to. I'd get so excited whenever we would go because it meant dressing up and acting like a little lady. I'm fairly certain I'd still feel the exact same way today if I were to go to Tracy Cakes!

  44. Happy Birthday, Babe! You look so chic! Love the headpiece and your entire ensemble. Back in Toronto, my girlfriends and I used to go for high tea every 2-3 months. We just loved dressing up and chatting for a few hours catching up since we wouldn't be able to get together for months at a time. So much fun! Sounds like you had an incredible time. You all look so chic!
